The Phone Friends Club

One of a Kind now has "The Phone Friends Club" which is a social telephone network for people living on their own; those who are socially, physically and culturally isolated; and people disengaged from family, friends or the community. It is underpinned on "Local helping Locals" by regularly communicating with each other to help maintain good mental and emotional health for individuals.

You can join as a "Member" and one of our trained Volunteers will call you at a predetermined time that best suits you- the member, or you can join as a "Volunteer" and make calls to Members on a regular basis. You can also join as a Member and a Volunteer and do both, make calls and receive calls. The calls are to provide social contact and engagement and essentially to just have a yarn or a chat assisting with those feelings of loneliness and isolation.

If you are interested in joining The Phone Friends Club or have any questions please go to for more information or you can call us on (02) 6765 7000.

One of a Kind, supported so far...

One of a Kind have been involved in some great Community Partnerships in the last 12 months or so. We have been involved in supporting the newly upgraded Marsupial Park in Tamworth, having donated $2,500 in support of this project.

We have also been involved with an initiative called the Kids Mural Project, which is a partnership between One of a Kind, Tamworth Hospital, Homespace and Newcastle Permanent Charitable Foundation. We will be transforming the kids ward in the Tamworth Hospital with loads of interactive art installations.

Here's an article telling you a bit more

We have a new website! Check it out..

Hello everyone,

One of a Kind Community Support has recently up-graded our website and we’d love for you to check it out. We will be making regular posts from our blog to keep you all informed about upcoming events as well as keeping you up-dated with ongoing projects and initiatives that we are involved in.

One of a Kind! So here’s how it works…

The money from our Op-Shops as well as donations and funding grants means that we can provide Armidale and Tamworth with a Community Hub. From the Hubs we have staff and volunteers that work with Community Groups, Government bodies and Businesses to create events, initiatives and projects that further support our communities.

Check out our website for projects that we have already supported.

We are passionate about our environment and doing our bit to reduce the environmental footprint by recycling, re-using and re-purposing. We absolutely love Op-Shops and the whole journey of discovery that Op-Shopping gives you, I think it’s all about the hunt and then scoring the best bargain ever that keeps us all going back.
We are still continuing to grow and venture into new social enterprise’s that are focused on social support and engagement as well as re-purposing goods from our shops, further reducing the environmental footprint.

One of a Kind is all about people just being themselves, their own “One of a Kind” self and That is something to celebrate, explore and embrace. We encourage people to get involved with the Random Acts of Kindness and Pay it Forward movements, believing that all good deeds do make a difference regardless of how big or small they are. We care about our community and how we support each other and are always looking to make connections and offer support when and where we can, so if you have any ideas of ways we can help and get involved drop us a line we’d love to hear from you.

We look forward to you joining us on this next leg of the journey…

Take care and Be One of a Kind!
