The Phone Friends Club is a FREE COMMUNITY SERVICE provided across the region and is funded by our social enterprise Op-Shops. The Phone Friends Club is a social telephone network for people living on their own; those who are socially, physically and culturally isolated; and people disengaged from family, friends or the community. It is underpinned on "Local helping Locals" by regularly communicating with each other to help maintain good mental and emotional health for individuals.
The idea is that our "Club Volunteers" will call "Club Members" on a regular basis to simply have a chat and make connection. This is about providing social contact, engagement and inclusion as well as helping to reverse the effects of loneliness for people within our community. Our Club Volunteers will also inform and invite our Club Members to regular morning tea's at our One of a Kind Op-Shops as well as any other events that may be happening in the community.
If you would like join The Phone Friends Club either as a Member, a Volunteer or both please complete the form below and one of our staff will be in touch with you as soon as possible to finalize your application.
